ISHIKAWA SAMBO Workshop

川町の一級建築士事務所「ISHIKAWA SAMBO（石川サンボ）」で石川教授の主管で青葉区で開かれた住民イベント「MAKER’S DAY」に参加することになった。南ゼミの一環として、地域の子供たちと一緒に自分だけの小さな家の模型を作る活動を行った。この活動は子供たちに建築に対する興味を感じさせ、創意性と協業の重要性を強調するために企画された。

ワークショップではまず、参加者がそれぞれ想像する自分だけの小さな家を構想する時間を持った。その後、用意された様々な材料を活用して模型を製作した。子供たちはゼミの一環と一人ずつチームを組んで互いのアイディアを分かち合い、協力して独創的な作品を完成した。この過程で建築に対する興味を感じ、創意力を発揮して疎通する楽しさを経験することができた。最終的に完成した模型はゼミの重要な展示物として定着し、参加者間の大切な経験を分かち合うきっかけとなった。

We were invited to participate in “MAKER’S DAY,” a residents’ event held in Aoba Ward, organized by part-time lecturer Ishikawa at ISHIKAWA SAMBO, a first-class architect office in Tsuzuki Ward, Yokohama City, Kanagawa Prefecture. As part of the seminar activities, he worked with local children to build a model of their own small house. This activity was not only a delight for the children, but also an important learning experience for ourselves.

In the workshop, each participant conceived of his or her own imaginary small house, and then built a model of it using various materials provided.The children teamed up one by one with seminar members and shared their ideas with each other, working together to complete a creative work of art.Through this process, they were able to experience an interest in architecture and the joy of communicating through creativity. In the end, the children were able to create a work of art that was satisfactory to all the participants and provided an opportunity for them to share an important experience with each other.

粟津邸

６月８日に粟津潔氏の自邸である「粟津邸」を見学しました。粟津邸はグラフィックデザイナー粟津潔の住居空間で、反射性住居の原型として位置し、他の住居形態に大きな影響を及ぼし、単純な居住空間を越えてデザインと環境の相互作用を反映する重要な意味を持つ。粟津邸の設計は自然地形に合わせて床面を細分化し、対称軸を基準に空間のバランスを維持する。内核は公共領域としてスカイライトを通じて自然光を流入し、白色デザインは自然の変化を反映する。これらの設計は都市環境に適合するように閉じた形で構成され、プライバシーと快適さを同時に考慮する。

現在、粟津邸は再誕生し、その中に込められた歴史と芸術的価値がさらに浮き彫りになる。この空間は建築を見に来る訪問客だけでなくアートスペースとしてより多くの訪問客に深い印象を残し、自由な表現の場として機能できる場所になった。

Awazu Residence

On June 8th, I visited the Awatsu Residence, which is Kiyoshi Awatsu’s residence. Awajin Residence is a residential space of graphic designer Awajin Kiyoshi, which is located as the original form of reflective housing and has an important meaning that reflects the interaction of design and environment beyond simple residential space. The design of Awajin Residence subdivides the floor according to the natural topography and maintains the balance of space based on the axis of symmetry. The inner core flows in natural light through Skylight as a public area, and the white design reflects natural changes. These designs are configured in a closed form to fit the urban environment, and privacy and comfort are considered at the same time.

Currently, Awazu Residence is reborn, and the history and artistic value contained in it are further highlighted. This space left a deep impression on not only visitors who came to see the architecture but also more visitors as art spaces, and it became a place where it could function as a place for free expression.

ベトナム建築研修旅行

8月20日から8月 24日までの5日間でベトナム建築研修旅行を行った。ベトナム在住の建築家である一生や、椙山女学園大学教授村上心先生、建築家の工藤浩平さんなどと一緒にホーチミン市内の建築見学を行った。国士舘大学からは3年生4人と4年生3人、南先生が参加した。

日本とは違う東南アジア独特の雰囲気や文化の違いを肌で感じることが出来た。また、急速に発展した地域とそうでない地域が目と身の先にあるという現状を目の当たりにした。発展途上国ならではの問題を感じることができた。

新たな視点を得ることのできる貴重な5日間となった。

Vietnam Study Trip

The architectural study tour to Vietnam was held from August 20 to 24.The students toured architecture in Ho Chi Minh City with Prof. Leiichi Lee, an architect living in Vietnam, Prof. Shin Murakami of Sugiyama Jogakuen University, architect Kohei Kudo, and others. From Kokushikan University, four third-year students, three fourth-year students, and Professor Minami participated in the tour.

They were able to experience firsthand the unique atmosphere and cultural differences in Southeast Asia, which are different from those in Japan. We also witnessed the current situation where rapidly developing areas and less developed areas are right under our noses. I was able to feel the problems that are unique to developing countries.

It was a valuable five days for us to gain new perspectives.

ゼミ旅行

2024年10月14日から16日にかけて、栃木県にて2泊3日のゼミ旅行を実施した。今回の旅行には、学部3年生、4年生、そして大学院生が参加し、普段の授業や研究とはまた異なる環境の中で、学年の垣根を越えた交流を深める貴重な機会となった。

旅行中は、華厳の滝や日光東照宮などの名所を訪れ、歴史や自然に触れるとともに、夜には宿泊施設でのバーベキューを通じて、和やかな時間を過ごした。学びとリフレッシュの両方を得ることができた、充実した3日間となった。

Seminar Trip

From October 14th to 16th, 2024, a three-day seminar trip was held in Tochigi Prefecture. This trip was a valuable opportunity for 3rd, 4th, and graduate students to participate and deepen exchanges across school year boundaries in a different environment from ordinary classes and studies.

During the trip, I visited famous places such as Hwaeom Falls and Nikko Toshogu Shrine, where I was exposed to history and nature, and had a peaceful time at night through barbecue at accommodation facilities. It was a fulfilling three days where I was able to get both learning and refreshing.

写経の会ー豪徳寺

初めて写経の会に参加した。会場に入ると、静かな空気が流れ、自然と心が落ち着くのを感じた。書き始めると、普段の雑念が少しずつ薄れ、目の前の一文字に意識を集中できるようになった。筆を運ぶたびに、自分の呼吸や姿勢にも気が向くようになり、まるで瞑想をしているかのような感覚に。

思った以上に字を書くのは難しく、筆の動かし方ひとつで表情が変わるのが面自かった。書き終えた後は、心がすっきりと軽くなっているのを感じた。日常の忙しさから離れ、静かに自分と向き合う時間の大切さを改めて実感した。

今回はゼミのメンバー半数程度でしたが、今度は是非全員で体験してみたいと思った。

Transcribing A Sutra Gotokuji

This was my first time to attend a sutra reading session. When I enteredthe hall, the air was quiet and I felt my mind naturally calm down. As I began to write, my usual distractions gradually faded away, and I was able to focus my attention on the single character in front of me. With each stroke of the brush, I became aware of my breathing and posture, and it was as if I was meditating. Writing was more difficult than I thought it would be, and it was interesting to see the expression change with each movement of the brush. After I finished writing, I felt refreshed and lightened. I realized once again the importance of taking time away from the busyness of daily life to quietly face myself.

This time, only about half of the seminar members participated, but I would definitely like to experience it with all of us next time.
